A 10-year-old girl was killed Tuesday morning after falling onto the subway tracks in Queens, according to police.

Officers responded to the Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street subway station in Jackson Heights just before 6:40 a.m., where they found the girl lying on the tracks, unresponsive with significant injuries, officials said.

The NYPD determined that she had been struck by a southbound E train. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The girl’s name has not yet been released. ABC reported that she had fainted onto the tracks — and that the train’s operator saw her fall but was unable to stop in time.

Police were unable to immediately confirm that information, but said there was no criminality suspected.

Subway service on the E, F, and R lines was significantly disrupted while the incident was being investigated.
