‘Oppenheimer’ and New York City history

NEW YORK (PIX11) – The physicist at the center of the newest box office smash, “Oppenheimer,” was from New York City.

Historians said that there are several spots around the city tied to J. Robert Oppenheimer and the Manhattan Project, which was when the atomic bomb was created.

John Friia, the content creator behind Here in New York, talks about Oppenheimer’s childhood and where you can see damage from the atomic bomb.
