Police looking for three suspects in Prospect Park shooting

Police on Monday were searching for three suspects involved in a nonfatal shooting in Prospect Park on Sunday afternoon.

According to the NYPD, a 37-year-old man was shot once in the right leg around 3 p.m. at the southeast corner of the park, near Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue. He was taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Police described the suspects as two men in their 20s wearing black jackets and gray sweatpants and one man in his 30s wearing a black jacket and dark jeans. They allegedly fled the scene south on foot.

No arrests were made, and police continue to investigate the incident.

The reason for the shooting was not immediately clear. The NYPD did not immediately provide Gothamist with data on recent shootings in Prospect Park.
