Real Fruit Bubble Tea opens first LI location

Real Fruit Bubble Tea has opened its first Long Island location. 

The Canadian chain opened this week in the second-level food court at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream. 

With over 100 stores, Real Fruit Bubble Tea, originated in Toronto, Canada in 2002. The brand is known for its handcrafted drinks and fresh teas that are brewed from loose leaf and expresso tea machines. Its drinks are made with real fruits processed on-site. 

The bubble tea chain is in the midst of a major expansion, aiming to open an additional 50 stores by the end of the year. 

“With over 100 stores, Real Fruit Bubble Tea now provides more than 1,300 job opportunities across Canada and the United States,” Jimmy Liu, the company’s executive director, said in a written statement. “We are confident that Green Acres will serve as the ideal location to begin our expansion throughout New York with its combination of visitors from Long Island and Queens.”

Green Acres Mall is owned and operated by Santa Monica, Calif.-based Macerich, which currently owns 47 million square feet of real estate consisting primarily of interests in 44 regional town centers. 

“As Real Fruit Bubble Tea continues to expand its presence further into the United States, we are pleased that they have chosen Green Acres Mall as their first Long Island location,” Jill Bromberg, Green Acres marketing manager, said in the statement. “Real Fruit Bubble Tea will deliver our visitors with fresh fruit drinks that are healthy and easily accessible creating a new dining destination for the residents and visitors of Nassau County.”
