Tritec Building Company, an affiliate of Tritec Real Estate, has completed a $3 million expansion and renovation project at an East Setauket medical office.

The project at North Suffolk Cardiology’s 17,684-square-foot offices at 45 Research Way in East Setauket, a property owned by Tritec, included the construction of several specialized rooms, a new PET/CT scanner, cardiac rehabilitation facilities, patient consultation areas and staff offices, according to a company statement.

The renovation took place across three separate office suites, including one that was occupied, which complicated the construction at the facility requiring minimal disruption to daily operations and patient care.

“Transforming a medical facility while ensuring uninterrupted services presented unique challenges,” Tritec Assistant Project Manager Tom Nagel said in the statement. “We thank the dedication of our team and collaborative efforts with North Suffolk Cardiology that allowed us to overcome these challenges and deliver a Class A medical space that will allow the practice to offer an enhanced patient experience.”
Installation of the new PET/CT scanner, which replaced an older PET machine, required precise construction techniques to ensure compatibility with sensitive medical equipment and challenges associated with getting the equipment into the building, according to the statement.

“We appreciate Tritec’s expertise in making our expansion possible while maintaining daily operations at our cardiology practice,” Jennifer Crema, executive director of Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group, said in the statement. “Our physicians and staff love the updated space as well as all our patients.”

North Suffolk Cardiology is a practice of Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group. The practice specializes in adult cardiovascular disease, utilizing techniques to prevent, diagnose, and treat heart and cardiovascular disorders.
